MediaBrik ("we", "us", or "our") operates mediabrik.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our audio transcription service.

1. Information we collect

Account information: When you sign in with Google via Clerk, we receive your name and email address.

Audio files: Files you upload for transcription. These are deleted from our servers immediately after transcription is complete — typically within 60 seconds of upload.

Transcripts: The text output of your transcriptions is stored securely in our database so you can download it from your dashboard. You can delete your transcripts at any time.

Payment information: We use Stripe to process payments. We never see or store your card details — Stripe handles all payment data under their own PCI-compliant systems.

Usage data: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that collects no personal data, uses no cookies, and is fully GDPR compliant.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide the transcription service
• Send you receipts and transactional emails
• Manage your subscription and access
• Respond to support requests
• Improve the service through aggregated, anonymised usage data

We do not sell your data. We do not use your audio or transcripts to train AI models.

3. Data storage and security

Your transcripts are stored in Supabase, hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. Access is protected by row-level security — only you can access your own transcripts.

Audio files are stored temporarily in Vercel Blob during processing only, and are permanently deleted after transcription completes.

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use industry-standard security practices and conduct regular security reviews.

4. Data retention

Audio files: deleted immediately after transcription (within ~60 seconds).

Transcripts: stored until you delete them or close your account.

Account data: retained until you delete your account.

Payment records: retained as required by Stripe and applicable tax law.

5. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your transcripts
• Opt out of any non-essential communications

6. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Clerk — Authentication
• Stripe — Payment processing
• Deepgram — Speech-to-text transcription
• Supabase — Database and file storage
• Resend — Transactional email
• Plausible — Privacy-first analytics

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication (managed by Clerk). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics (Plausible) are cookieless.

8. Children

MediaBrik is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
